New and improved Nissan Leaf
2012 will see the second year, of Nissan Leaf driving on the roads, this mid-sized electric in hatchback, is a break though in green driving. There will be a few changes in the new model, every thing will be heated, no more freezing toes, the outside mirrors, the steering wheel, the front seats and even the back eats, wow this will keep the back seaters happy, most often our children, a HVAC duct running all the way to their seats too.
A quick charge port will be standard on each car also. You see charging quickly takes more volts at once, therefor a special port is needed for that.
Here is what owners of the Leaf are saying about the mileage.
If you are driving 70-75 on the freeway you probably won’t get 60. The lower end of the range is for the freeway speeds. It has a lot of power and pickup, and will go 90 mph. Driving carefully with a blend of freeway and city miles, and using the Eco Mode to drive carefully, I have driven 80 miles, with 15 left over on a single charge. After the battery gauge indicates it is empty, there could still be 15-20 miles left. We think with careful driving we might get over 100 miles.
