Royal Tour In Canada Over

Royals have a last Ye-ha in Canada whilst visiting Calgary, they kicked things off at the Calgary stampede, set off the fire works for the parade on Friday. Wearing nothing but the best cowboy gear plus the hats presented to them by the Mayor of Calgary, with their custom made cowboy boots.

Then it was off to CARPINTERIA, Calif. - Catherine watched her Prince William, take to the field for a polo match Saturday this was a recreational diversion during their visit to Southern California.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge drew a crowd to the sun-splashed Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club on the coast northwest of Los Angeles, the club charged about $400 a ticket to raise millions of dollars for charity and to celebrate the club's centenary.

The Prince was heard saying "My father, the Prince of Wales, and my brother, Harry, were as green as that grass outside when I told them I'd be here today," as he talked with guests at the reception, "Catherine and I have had a busy few days - so the prospect of being able to let loose this afternoon is wonderful for me."
Sounds like they enjoyed Saturday afternoon

Saturday night they get to dress up attend a British Academy of Film and Television Arts dinner honouring 42 young British actors and filmmakers, where they will be guests of honor, where there will be reportedly a huge amount of Hollywood celebrities attending, allegedly including, Tom Hanks, Nicole Kidman and Judd Apatow.
The question on my mind is, will the Duchess wear some of the Queens jewelry, a nice tiara or necklace perhaps.

Facebook, Google and MySpace

So the big announcement from Facebook, did have something to do with Skype but maybe not in the way it was rumored. Facebook is improving it's chat feature, according to Mark Zuckerberg who is the founder of Facebook, there are new chat features, extra incentives that will tell you if a friend online to chat to.

The exciting part is that now, after installing a new app video chat will be available, if you have a web cam. That is the intergration with Skype part, do you want to be visual to your Facebook friends? I can imagine that some people would like to video chat with each other, on the other hand some with whom text chat will be the best option.

Google is trying to enter the social network arena, as it stands right now Google is so far behind it would be like, Facebook starting a search engine. Hay they may be able to do it, Google's chat feature is designed to allow up to 9 friends to chat at the same time. Businesses could benefit from that, more people working at home perhaps, saving the environment.

Justin Timberlake, finding his way back into the news, but not for singing this time, he is going to be aiding the ailing MySpace website, bring it's sexy back. He has bought himself a stake in the company, having plans to revitalize it, this is the go to social network for talented musicians and bands. Royal Tour In Alberta

Picture from hollywoodlife.com
Back to the Royals, they have been up to in the last few days? William has been flying a Sea King helicopter practicing a Canadian designed move, the maneuver is called water birding, that consists of a simulation of a one engine failure whilst in a hover, above water, something that could happen when out on a rescue mission, Prince William is a search and rescue pilot.

In P.E.I Kate changed her outfit for a Dragon boat race, William kept his blue dress shirt on. The royal pair in separate teams, the team William was on where victorious, that anyone cared.

After a short plane trip they arrived in Yellow knife, where they where greeted with much excitement from the locals, the rain did not dampen the enthusiasm as dignitaries lined up to shake royal hands. Two children at the end of the line holding bouquets, braved the drizzle with out umbrellas, Prince William was most concerned staying with them until they had met Kate and someone brought over an umbrella.

Today on a day off the royal tour made an unscheduled stop in Slave lake AB, to bring up the spirits of the town devastated by stopping by. Kate was casually dressed in skinny jeans, long navy jacket and black wedge shoes.

Tomorrow they arrive in Calgary, citizens lined up for hours to get a wrist band to be able to catch a glimpse of them and maybe shake have a word or two. After getting the wrist bands some people imminently put them up for sale, asking as much as $1000.00, others would not sell their bands for the world.

Billions In Gold Found

Have you heard about the treasure found in India? It's the stuff of legends, estimated in the billions of dollars, reportedly staggering amounts in diamonds, pearls, rubies and all the rainbow in precious and semi-precious gem stones. Gold lots of gold, imagine it is being weighted in kilos! statues, coins, crowns, tiaras, a veil made of gold weighing in at a colossal 36 kilos, rings even a 6 meter long gold chain, a treasure that is the stuff dreams are made of.

In fact this could be the largest treasure ever found, far greater than that of King Tut

The valuables have been donated to the temple for at least 100 years, the 16th century temple in southern India, was built by the kings of Travancore, their decedents have looked after it until recently when it was taken over by the government who as a matter of procedure count all the contents. The Temple has hidden vaults and cellars containing treasure, the last time two of the vaults where opened was around 130 years ago.

The royal family, has been the custodians of the temple until recently.
The Supreme Court had received partitions from the royal family, appealing the Sri Padmanabhaswamy temple, not be taken over.

So what happens to all the treasure? There is much discussion about it, will it bring the price of gold down, if access amount are released on to the market at once? How does it get spent? Will the poor country spend it on the poor? Pay off dept? Or perhaps it will end up in a museum.

Day 4 Of Royal Tour

picture from hollywoodlife.com

Another day in the royal tour, this Sunday in Quebec and Montreal, much centering around the military today, including mass held on a navy ship, a ceremony to inspect the guard. William engages in small talk with some of the troupes in the 22nd regiment standing in their finery and large beefeater hats, as he inspects them.

Their highnesses will also attend the community Levis celebration in celebrating 375th anniversary, of the french troupes being defeated, this is causing a little controversy with the Quebec residents. before traveling to PEI in the evening, where rain is expected.

Kate and William also participated in a cooking class, on July 2nd at the Quebec Tourism and Hotel Institute, one of the things they wanted to do was learn how to make a souffle.

Kate was regally dressed with a fitted royal blue dress, that has a lace detailing across the shoulders. The Queen gave Kate the option of using any of her royal jewelry, so far I have seen the Maple leave broach, worn by Queen on her visits here.
Now it seems Canadians have become smitten with the new royal duchess, as the dresses she has been waring are selling out in minutes of being see, at online stores. My guess there is a wholesaler hoping to cash in, using law of supply and demand.

Souis Manitoba Flood Waters

Souris Manitoba is playing host to 175 Canadian troupes, unfortunately, the reason for their presence is to try and save the town from the expected cresting flood waters of the river.

"We're (the military) exploring what assistance can be acquired, if needed, through our joint emergency preparedness program," federal Public Safety Minister Peter Van Loan said Thursday in Ottawa.

"And there's, of course, our disaster assistance program, [an] after-the-fact way of assisting with funding, should events arise."

The Military have been aiding in the massive sandbagging efforts to keep the waters contained somewhat. The famous longest suspension foot bridge had to be removed with fears that the foundation will be compromised.
