Jerry Lewis could not make it on stage, for the Australian Zap2it fundraiser on Friday
the 85 year old entertainer, fell ill just hours before his scheduled performance. His publicist says he was just over tired and Mr Lewis was released from hospital a few hours after admission.
Ticket holders for the show that was cancelled, where very understanding with lots of them declining a refund donating the money to the foundation instead. Jerry still expects to appear in Melbourne later in the week.
Jerry Lewis has been and advocate for muscular dystrophy for decades, he works for both the US Muscular Dystrophy Association and the Australian Organization. Also he announced his retirement from the Jerry Lewis Labor Day telethon, so this year it will hold the name of someone else.
A reason for Jerry's exhaustion could be his heavy schedule as he has been casting people for the stage production of The Nutty Professor, which will be debuting in January, for this he has been flying back and forth between Las Vegas and New York.
